Stefano de Peppo was born in Italy.
As a boy soprano for six years he was part of the Children Chorus of Teatro alla Scala in Milan. He then studied Voice at Civic School of Music in Milan and with private teachers.
He made his very early debut as Escamillo (Carmen) in London at Holland Park Theatre in a production in English, prompting a critic to notice his crisp diction despite being a non-native speaker.
He has performed roles including Leporello and Don Giovanni (Don Giovanni), Figaro (Nozze di Figaro) Bartolo (Barbiere di Siviglia and Nozze), Mustafà (L’Italiana in Algeri), Dulcamara (L’elisir d’amore), Gianni Schicchi, Don Magnifico (La Cenerentola), Schaunard (La Bohème), Sulpice (La Fille du Régiment), The Sacristan (Tosca) in many theaters around the world, from Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City to Israel National Opera in Tel Aviv (Israel), Royal Albert Hall in London (UK), Teatro Colon (Bogotà, Colombia), Seville, Tenerife, Jerez, Cordoba, Alicante (Spain), Teatro Argentina (Rome, Italy), Versailles (France), New York, Washington D.C., Minneapolis, San Diego, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Sarasota, Denver, Portland, Bozeman, Chicago, Boston, Kansas City, Wichita among other cities in USA.
He is known for his powerful, expressive and warm bass-baritone, his acting skills, and his crisp perfect diction, especially in his native Italian. Stefano coaches Italian to singers and he is often invited to Masterclasses in the USA and abroad.
