DictionBuddy Concert Series

APPLICATIONS FOR THE ENGLISH CONCERT ARE CLOSED

The DictionBuddy Concert Series is aimed at showcasing performers that have achieved the highest level of skill in Vocal Presentation and Lyric Diction in various languages. The series will be focused on one language at a time based on what’s available in the DictionBuddy library.

DictionBuddy wishes to provide an opportunity for performance to any classical singer regardless of age, race or creed. Due to the COVID-19 quarantine, the concert will showcase only performances specifically produced for the DictionBuddy Concert Series and could not have been made public previously. The concerts will be broadcast across all DictionBuddy channels and promoted to social media outlets.
Each concert will be focused on a particular language that is represented in the DictionBuddy app.

The 2020-2021 DictionBuddy Concert Series will include the concerts in the following languages:

AUDITION

APPLICATIONS FOR THE ENGLISH CONCERT ARE NOW OPEN

Singers who are selected and showcased in the DictionBuddy Concert Series as a result of their audition will receive a FREE 6-month subscription to the DICTIONBUDDY mobile app. The app makes learning vocal repertoire easier by giving access to a lyric diction audio database of over 1,800 + tracks in 10 languages. A monetary stipend in the amount of $25 will be awarded to all singers performing in a DictionBuddy concert.

The concert on October 2, 2021 in the DictionBuddy Concert Series will be dedicated to ENGLISH music and language. The concert will focus on ENGLISH arias and art songs and will feature various singers performing a variety of ENGLISH repertoire, celebrating the lyric diction skills of singing in ENGLISH.

APPLICATIONS FOR THE ENGLISH CONCERT ARE OPEN

Singers Audition Notice:

DictionBuddy invites singers to audition for the DictionBuddy Concert Series that will be aired on October 2, 2021 @ 8:00 PM EST.

Please submit a video of your singing a piece from the ENGLISH repertoire (an art song or an aria) to showcase your ENGLISH diction skills. If as a winner of this audition you are invited to participate in DictionBuddy Concert Series, you’ll be requested to provide a new video recordings (not previously aired publicly) to be used in the DictionBuddy concert. You may use a backing track (piano or orchestral) or a live piano accompaniment for the concert. Standard audition or concert attire is requested.
Native ENGLISH diction and voice coaches will be the judges for the concert. Winners will be announced on Facebook and other media outlets on September 11th, 2021 before 8:59 PM EST.

If a winner of the auditions can not produce the required materials for the concert or for any reason needs to withdraw his/her participation, DictionBuddy will offer the runner up an opportunity to perform in the concert. Only those singers who have become the winners of the DictionBuddy auditions and as a result participated in the concert are crowned the title of the DictionBuddy Concert Series- Audition Winner. By not participating in the concert, the singer that was named an audition winner forfeits his/her right to the Audition Winner title.
DictionBuddy thanks all singers who chose to submit their materials for consideration and reserves the right to select only those singers with the highest vocal and diction skills as determined by the concert organizers and judges invited to adjudicate the auditions.
