SABINE KRANTZ
Sabine Krantz is a private piano-and voice teacher and vocal coach in the Syracuse, NY area. She was born in Sweden to a Swedish mother and a Norwegian father. They moved to Germany when she was a year old and to Norway when she was 6 years old, where she spent all of her school years. She went to a music high school in Drammen before being accepted to the Norwegian State Academy of Music in Oslo.
She met her husband (from Minnesota) while in school, and they were married in Sweden in 1999, and have since had 4 children. They lived in Minneapolis for 5 years before moving to Syracuse. Ms. Krantz has been a self-employed, stay-at-home mom these last 20 years, and also home-schooled the kids since 2008.
She’s currently keeping a large private piano-and voice studio, and usually plays for several schools in the Syracuse area, including Setnor School of Music for instrumental and vocal juries and recitals and Onondaga Community College vocal repertoire classes and juries.
She also plays for NYSSMA, the CMM vocal competition, CNYAMT instrumental competition, and other competitions and festivals in the area. She just finished a Master’s Degree in Vocal Pedagogy at Syracuse University this past May, focusing on teaching high school singers and singing Scandinavian repertoire.
