Anya fidelia

Versatile soprano Anya Fidelia made her professional debut at the Caramoor International Festival under the baton of Maestro Will Crutchfield. She returned to Caramoor in subsequent seasons to work on the roles of Leonora in Verdi's Il Trovatore, Leonora in La Forza del Destino and appear in numerous concerts.

Ms. Fidelia’s operatic repertoire includes the roles of Verdi’s Leonora in La Forza del Destino and Il Trovatore; Mascagni’s Santuzza (Cavaleria Rusticana); Tchaikovsky’s Tatyana (Eugene Onegin); Poulenc’s Blanche de la Force (The Dialogues of the Carmelites); Georgetta (Il Tabarro); Mimi in La Boheme as well as the title roles of Puccini’s Suor Angelica, Butterfly and Tosca amongst other. A frequent performer at the Carnegie Weil Recital Hall, Ms. Fidelia's recital repertoire is extensive and diverse.

Ms. Fidelia is currently embarking on the dramatic Verdian and Verismo Soprano repertoire roles: Amelia (Un Ballo); Elizabetta (Don Carlo); Lady Macbeth (Macbeth); Maddalena /Andrea Chenier (Giordano); La Gioconda (Ponchielli); Adriana Lecouvreur (Cilea); Lisa (Pique Dame), the title role of Turandot (Puccini).

Ms. Fidelia’s domestic and international engagement highlights include performances with leading Russian musicians at the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Hall and Moscow International House of Music (Дом Музыки).

Amongst other numerous engagements and venues are: Beacon Theater on Broadway, New York City; U.S. Tour for PBS Television Special "Romantic Journey" with one of Russia's leading crossover stars Nikolai Baskov; numerous appearances for the Metropolitan Opera Guild; Carnegie Hall; the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia; New Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv; Centro de Bellas Artes in Puerto-Rico.

Ms. Fidelia was invited to perform in orchestral and piano solo recital tour of Moscow and St. Petersburg for the "Art-November" International Festival, where she reappeared for several years. She returned to Moscow for more performances at major venues and commercial recording of Song Cycle op. 38 by S.Rachmaninov with the renown Brahms Trio.

Other select performance credits include the International Rachmaninov Society Recital in New York City presided by Vladimir Ashkenazy; Stefan Weisman's new opera “Darkling” with the American Opera Projects; recital for the UN Diplomatic VIP guests of the UN Russian Mission; Harvard University donor events, and the tour of France with the New York Opera Society.

Ms. Fidelia has also recorded for film. Credits include soundtracks for the Tribeca Film Festival award winning film, "Jack Smith and the Destruction of Atlantis", and the Cannes Festival award winning documentary “Bye-bye, Babushka!”

Ms. Fidelia has trained with world renowned mentors Joan Dornemann, Vladimir and Olga Chernov, Renata Scotto, Will Crutchfield, Regina Resnik, Beth Roberts, and Nico Casel.

She has earned Masters and PSD degrees in Vocal Performance from Mannes School of Music in New York City and received intensive training with the International Vocal Arts Institute (IVAI) in Israel, Puerto-Rico, Canada and France.

Ms. Fidelia was selected as a National Auditions Finalist by the Lyric Opera of Chicago and SantaFe Opera; a prizewinner at the Liederkranz Foundation Award Competition, and the Schuyler Foundation for Career Bridges in addition to other vocal competitions.

A recipient of multiple awards and scholarships, Ms. Fidelia is a Blue Print Fellow and a COJECO grant recipient.
